Albanian weightlifter Evangelina Veli won three medals for her home country at her home European Championships in Tirana. Among them, two times gold. And yet she is not taken seriously as a female weightlifter in Albania. In an interview with Weightlifting Magazine, the 31-year-old talks about the abuses in the Albanian Weightlifting Federation that she has to deal with on a daily basis.

The last competition day at this year’s European Weightlifting Championships is in the books. While in the women’s over 87 kg weight category Emily Campbell won three gold medals unchallenged, world record holder Lasha Talakhadze did not let anyone pass him in the over 109 kg category.

On the seventh competition day of this year’s European Championships in Tirana, Albania, the German lifter Nina Schroth won the bronze medal in the weight category up to 81 kg. In the overall standings, she ended up in fifth place.

Nino Pizzolato has become European champion for the third time in a row. On the third competition day of this year’s European Championships in Albania an exciting fight for the podium took place in the women’s weight category up to 59 kg as well as in the men’s category up to 67 kg.

After the second competition day of this year’s European Championships in Tirana, Albania, there are three new European champions. Angel Rusev (-55 kg), Ivan Dimov (-61 kg) and Evagjelia Veli (-55 kg) won a gold medal. The two German athletes Simon Brandhuber and Jon Luke Mau won four medals.

The first competition day of this year’s European Weightlifting Championships in Tirana, Albania, is in the books. While the favorite Saziye Erdogan won three gold medals in the weight category up to 45 kg, Weightlifting Shop athlete Giulia Imperio (-49 kg) also took home three medals.

The time has finally come: Today, Saturday, May 28, marks the start of this year’s European Weightlifting Championships. In the weight category up to 49 kg, Weightlifting Shop athlete Giulia Imperio will demonstrate her skills on the first competition day.

This year’s European Championships in Albania will again feature athletes from countries where weightlifting is almost unknown. They represent their country with pride and usually go down in history as winners of hearts.
